Während der Zeit des Dritten Reichs wurden auch in Fürth zahlreiche Straßen um- bzw. neu benannt. Hintergrund war stets die Tilgung jüdischer, sozialdemokratischer und anderer, dem Regime missliebiger Namen, aus dem Stadtbild sowie die Festigung der eigenen Ideologie. Namen und Beschlüsse wurden von der Parteiführung vorgegeben, die frühzeitig gleichgeschalteten Ratsmitglieder hatten hierbei keine Entscheidung mehr zu treffen, sondern mussten die Beschlüsse nur noch abnicken. Die ersten Namensänderungen fanden bereits kurz nach der Machtergreifung im Frühjahr 1933 ihre Umsetzung, zahlreiche weitere folgten bis zum Jahr 1939. Die meisten der unseligen Umbenennungen wurden direkt nach Kriegsende beseitigt, andere jedoch blieben da der Zusammenhang zum NS-Regime nicht direkt ersichtlich war oder die Namensgebung politisch als unproblematisch gesehen wurde.[1]. Die nachfolgende Tabelle soll einen Überblick übder die zahlreichen Um- bzw. Neubenennungen geben, sie erhebt allerdings keinen Anspruch auf Vollständigkeit.
